Holiday is a label that’s all about extending your summer vacation glow. Dreamt up by Sydney-based designer Emma Mulholland, it has captured the drifting, restless travellers’ heart with 80s and 90s souvenir-inspired looks designed to stir up a life’s worth of vacation nostalgia. Holiday is the second major fashion project for Mulholland, who kicked off her career with an eponymous label back in 2013. Keen for a change of pace in the fashion world, she started Holiday in 2017 and the label’s laidback but fun slogan tees, hoodies, hats, patterned pants and cute accessories are coveted and collected the world over.
Holiday is designed in Sydney, Australia and made in Bali, Indonesia where designer Emma Mulholland splits her time. In Bali, Mulholland works closely with a small family run textile studio to pattern make, screen print, cut and sew Holiday products. Holiday works with a local screen printing studio in Sydney, Australia to screen print all the iconic Holiday tees, sweaters and hoodies.
By working closely with a small teams and studios in Indonesia and Australia, Mulholland is able to oversee the manufacturing process and make sure every step of the process is meeting Holiday's ethos and quality controls.
Holiday is dedicated to practising sustainable modes of production in each step of the process starting from design all the way to delivering to the customer. By designing and manufacturing good quality, classic pieces Holiday aims to make pieces that customer's will treasure and have with them for seasons to come. Holiday works with classic cuts that have been tried and tested since the beginning of Holiday's journey and reimagines them in new prints for future collections.
Through the manufacturing process Holiday aims to minimise waste by using every piece of fabric possible and turning them into smaller items such as scrunchies, face masks and stuffed toys. In order to minimise over production and dead stock Holiday has introduced Pre Orders for popular items. Through the Pre Orders Holiday is able to produce the right amount of stock for customers and use this information for future collection.
